Imagining the next world Jesus is creating helps center me in receiving His gifts. Imagine a place where no offenses occur because LOVE is perfect, not lacking anything. No person is forgotten, abandoned, or harmed in any way. By faith, this new creation in embryonic form is living in us now and is to be fully realized in our resurrected bodies.
Words like “unconditional love” may or may not stir that imagination for you or for me. Our interpretations of our earthly existence interfere with acknowledging how committed God is to bringing our full restoration.
In the animal kingdom, any babies that stick close to their mom, or stay hidden in a den, have embraced what gives life. When we follow wisdom (which is personified as God’s desires for us) we thrive. Thriving comes from listening, watching, imitating, and responding to our Creator’s cues. Obtaining meaning and purpose, such as who to marry, what job to get, and so on, is meant to come afterward and not meant to take front and center. Any gift was meant to refocus us on the perfection of our Giver. His arm alone rescues us. Faith means acknowledging His promises as an “unshakable truth that remains forever.”
